The United States has completed its latest wave of military strikes against Iran, marking the third consecutive night of attacks as tensions between the two countries continue to escalate. The operation was carried out by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) following orders from President Donald Trump.

According to U.S. officials, the strikes targeted Iranian military facilities linked to missile launches, drone operations, and coastal defense systems. The attacks are part of Washington’s effort to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping and regional security.

Iran responded by claiming it launched ballistic missiles at a U.S. military base in Jordan while also warning that further attacks could follow if the U.S. continues its military campaign. Regional air defense systems in Jordan and Bahrain were activated as tensions spread beyond Iran’s borders.

The confrontation has also intensified around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. Commercial tanker traffic has slowed significantly amid fears of additional attacks, raising concerns about global energy supplies.

Global oil markets reacted immediately. Brent crude climbed above $86 per barrel, reaching its highest level in four weeks as investors worried that prolonged fighting could disrupt the flow of oil through the Gulf.

Despite the latest escalation, analysts say both Washington and Tehran appear to be trying to avoid a full-scale regional war while continuing to demonstrate military strength. However, the risk of further retaliation remains high, and governments around the world are closely monitoring developments.
